PVR strengthens its presence in the state of Punjab

After the recent expansion of PVR Cinemas in Mohali and Chandigarh, PVR today announced the launch of its third property in Ludhiana whilst further strengthening its presence in Punjab. The seven screen multiplex in Fountain Chowk, Ludhiana spreads across an area of 30, 020 sq ft. with a seating capacity of 1016.
 
PVR sees Punjab as a potential market to expand its business propositions and with this opening, the screen count of PVR in Punjab rises to 42 screens with a total of seven properties in the cities of Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Chandigarh (Union territory) and Mohali. The multiplex chain, post the launch in Bharti Pavilion Mall reaches a screen count of 434 in 99 cinemas in 42 cities in India.
 
On this occasion, Mr Sanjeev Bijli, Joint Managing Director, PVR Limited said; “We are delighted to expand our operations further in Punjab. The location of the mall is central and convenient and we at PVR see immense credibility in the developers, Bharti Realty Ltd. As we strengthen our ties with the developers as well as our patrons from the city of Ludhiana, we aim to bring the best to the table with a dynamic approach and enthusiasm.”
 
Mr Gautam Dutta, Chief Operating Officer, PVR Limited, said, “Punjab has always been an important market for us due to an overwhelming response from the people. After the huge success of the recent launches in Mohali and Chandigarh, we plan to expand our footprints in the city of Ludhiana. PVR sees a huge untapped consumer base for a quality cinema watching experience and hope to accomplish our commitment towards the state while adding another multiplex in the kitty of Punjab.”
 
Indians have always been passionate about cinema and cricket; Ludhiana, which is a place of cricket aficionados, also possesses a dominant passion for cinema. The largest city of Punjab, caters to a potential population of approximately 3,500,000 people which provides an immense unexplored new market of cinema lovers. Understanding the requirements of the state, PVR aims to provide a luxurious cinematic experience to the audience.
 
On the launch actor Varun Dhawan added, “Ludhiana has a huge appetite for entertainment. With the launch, I am hopeful that the people of Ludhiana will experience best in class service for which PVR is known for. I am really excited to be a part of this launch. This is PVR’s largest multiplex in Ludhiana. I myself watch most of the movies in PVR multiplexes and look forward that my fans will watch my upcoming movie in PVR.”
 
The newly launched cinema in Ludhiana is well organized with distinct design and zoning of the key areas. The multiplex is equipped with Dolby digital 2K projections, 7.1 channel sound and is 3D enabled with large screens, comfortable seating and a wide range of F&B.
